I feel it tugging—His Word waiting, a quiet call I don’t want to miss. The invitation to open my Bible.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
-2 Timothy 3:16-17

Only 10% of Christians in America read the Bible daily—no judgment, just a fact. But it makes me wonder: what do we lose when we skip it?

I’ve been there, the Christian letting her Bible sit closed—and it cost me. Peace faded when anxiety crept in. Direction slipped away in the haze of motherhood and marriage. Wisdom hid when big decisions stared me down. Closeness with God—the thing I craved most—slipped through my fingers.

There was a season I wanted to read, but something held me back—a wall, heavy and real. Looking back, I see the Enemy’s hand; he hates us reaching for God’s gifts. Maybe you’ve felt that too—overwhelm or just not knowing where to start?

That’s why I’m here, spilling this out. I’ve known the weakness of drifting, and I’ve seen His Word pull me back. This year, I committed to daily reading—life’s different now. The more I dig in, the more I want it. Mornings with God feel like a need, not a chore.

I can’t help but wonder—why didn’t I start sooner? Not guilt, not rules—just realizing what I was missing.

Do I get it all? No. Some days I trust the Spirit to show me; others, I lean on tools to dig deeper. God’s faithful either way.

Why does this matter? Because opening our Bibles isn’t just reading—it’s letting Him work in us.

5 Ways God’s Word Transforms You

  1. It Renews Your Mind
Feeling overwhelmed? His Word clears the noise a bit. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” —Romans 12:2
  2. It Gives You Wisdom
Life’s full of choices—His voice helps you see. “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” —Psalm 119:105
  3. It Strengthens You in Trials
When it’s tough, His Word keeps you standing. “My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.” —Psalm 119:28
  4. It Deepens Your Relationship with God
Time with Him pulls you closer, steady and sure. “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” —James 4:8
  5. It Reveals God’s Will
Want truth? It’s there when you open it. “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” —John 17:17

This is just a peek at what’s waiting in those pages—for anyone ready to hear Him.

The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. -1 Corinthians 2:14

Truth is, until you try it, these are just words. If you’ve been longing for peace, direction, strength, or God Himself—He’s there. Open His Word today—not a task, but a chance. Because it’s not just something we read—He reads us, too.

In His Grace,
Christin
