Joy has been on my mind lately. It has always seemed like a mystery why joy comes so easily to some people, but not to me.
Is this you, too?
I believe some people have a better disposition for it, but ultimately, joy is a choice as much as it’s a gift.
Someone can give me a gift, but if I don’t open it and utilize the gift, it’s pretty useless. I need to open the gift of joy by walking in the spirit and cultivate it in my life by stewarding it, nurturing it, and protecting it.
Joy is attached to faith. When we believe God is who He says He is and He’s going to do what He’s says He’ll do, we walk in faith.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. -Romans 15:13
When we trust that God is for us and our joy is in Him and not in this world, it’s made complete.
Sometimes we can believe God but our own doubts will try to sabotage that belief. It’s crazy how powerful our minds are. But God is even more powerful!
Lasting joy isn’t found in our circumstances or success. It’s found in Jesus.
It feels like such a mystery, but it’s really not. It’s just clouded by lies and false joy that we often chase after.
When we fully grasp who He is and what He did for us compared with what we deserved, just wow. Now that’s love! He gives us every reason to live in joy!
How can you receive the gift of joy and cultivate it today?
Savoring Him,
Christin
