Some days, holding your peace amid hurt feels impossible. That’s what they call it when you choose not to retaliate to someone’s poor, disrespectful, uncalled-for behavior toward another.
Instead, it feels more like a boxing bag–hanging in there, taking the hits.
Why is it the responsibility of one person to keep it all together while the other has permission to act a fool and then lay blame?
The pain cuts so deep and the hurt so tremendous that it if not carefully managed, can transform to anger. Anger tends to unleash when left unchecked.
That’s when hurtful things are said and rash actions taken. Pain isn’t a pet to coddle and care for. It’s an opportunity. Not entirely sure for what sometimes.
But, as I stated, some days it’s hard not allowing that pain to become a point of rage for lack of understanding.
Not retaliating? That’s one way God has called His people to be set apart. It’s unbearable some days, but He’s got this. He’s got us.

Christin
