Have you ever fought to out-bless someone?
My husband and I spent the weekend visiting my cousin and her family. Our families have spent weekends together for more than twenty years. Some of our teens are best friends.
Since our families have grown (13 kids between the two of us), we take our camper up and park on their property.
Life has been very busy and very hard on them lately.
One morning, we thought it would be nice to just make them breakfast and coffee. To us, it was a simple thing.
But to them? Parents who are exhausted and constantly on the go as of late? A simple cup of coffee, some eggs and toast, and the company of people they enjoy? It filled their cup a little.
They were truly blessed by this simple act. That evening? They blessed us back and made us dinner.
Sometimes the things I take for granted are a huge blessing to someone else. Sometimes something so simple can fill the cup of someone running on empty.
I don’t always know what people are going through or the exhaustion they are enduring. But offering a simple act of hospitality with what I have can go a long way.
