There’s the pain of discipline or the pain of decline. Choose your hard. Only one reaps reward.
There was a season when I was very disciplined in my health and fitness. It was hard work. But not as hard as feeling tired, overwhelmed, moody, anxious, chunky, and unconfident.
When we want to make a change, we make a plan. This requires us to become disciplined to achieve that change.
Discipline is the accountability when motivation wears down. Discipline is the practice when willpower dies out. Discipline keeps you going when all the excuses rise to the surface. (And they will).
It’s not always fun in the moment, but the joy and freedom of being disciplined bring with them a sense of empowerment.
Get in the habit of telling yourself “no” more often on the things that aren’t life-giving and moving you forward in your life and your walk with Jesus.
And say “yes” more to the things that do.
Change doesn’t happen overnight — and it won’t happen if you quit. No matter how many times you fall, get back up. I’ve fallen more than a dozen times as of now. And I’ll fall again. I just keep getting back up.
xoxo,
Christin
