Remembering the Gift {Giveaway Closed}

(This post may contain affiliate links. Read my full disclosure.)

You see it everywhere. Tools {devotionals, books, decor} to help us remember what the Christmas season is really about. But to forget “Christmas” is forget His death completely. To forget His purpose for coming. We manage to remember the rest of the year long, why, on Christmas would we forget the reason we celebrate? We hear it all the time. We tell it to our children.

“Christmas is not about the presents, or the tree, or the lights. It’s not about receiving gifts.”

Yet, He is everything we celebrate.

It is about {His} presence.

It is about {His death on} a tree.

It is about {being} lights.

And most importantly, it is about receiving.

God begins by wrapping His son, as a shivering baby lying in a manager. And finishes with wrapping up the end of Jesus’ life on a tree. If we don’t receive this gift, we remain in our sin, graceless.

We must learn to receive what God has for us–it’s the only way to fully live—and live for Him.

And not just at Christmas, but everyday.

Jesus is God’s gift to us.

Christmas comes from the words “Christ’s Mass”. “Mass” meaning ‘death sacrifice’.

Christ’s death sacrifice.

“For God so loved the world that He gave…”

We don’t have to look too hard or too deep to find Jesus during this season. We simply just need to look. There would be no Christmas without the presence, the tree, the lights, or the gift we receive.

Dayspring offers this beautiful set as part of that reminder of God’s gift to us when He sent Jesus into the world, in a manger. But more than a reminder, it helps us to keep Jesus woven within our lives.
